Rocco Sbardella

Rocco received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern Maine in 2004. In pursuit of his degree, he served as the president of USM’s student IEEE, the world’s largest professional associated for the advancement of technology and received a NASA Space Grant for his innovative research on biologically-inspired articulating control surfaces used for fluid propulsion. His concentration was in computer engineering and programming.

His career to date has allowed him to use his innovative engineering skills to gain multidisciplinary experience while improving the design, development process, and marketing of prototype products both exceeding customer expectations and establishing new markets. After contributing at a management level to the success of a Maine-based start-up that led to its acquisition by a Fortune 500 company, he began his own electro-mechanical design and manufacturing company. Rocco has managed Della-Tech’s operations since 2011.

The combined growth potential of the mobile software and augmented reality markets and a clear vision of the future of mobile electronics marketing attracted Rocco to found his latest company, Mobile Magic. His imagination is largely inspired by the emergence of large scale business successes within the video game market, one he’s been passionate about since its infancy. His drive has been amplified through the support of Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development’s Top Gun mentors. He is now focused on creating the next generation of interactive augmented reality applications. Rocco also serves as an adjunct professor of Digital Logic at the University of Southern Maine.
